      Update from Ms. Steele

      Administrators (5th-8th)

The Administrators are working on the Black Butte School District’s end of the year assessments in both math and reading.  They are also finishing one last writing piece, a fictional story about summer.  In math we continue to work together as a whole group on geometry topics.  Hope to see you all at the end of the year program, next Thursday at 6pm.

      Update from Ms. Kassie

      K-1 Literacy & Math

In both math and literacy we are wrapping up our year. We are adding more pages to our portfolios, doing final writing, and reviewing all that we have learned. What a year of growth!

      K-2 Science

In science this week we have thought about how people recorded ideas before paper was invented and used. Students created their own clay pots or other “artifacts”. We also helped to make a timeline of the BBS remodel over the last year. This helped us to remember all the changes we have been through this year and how timelines help to keep that information organized.

      Update from Mr. B

      BeBop Literacy & Math (2nd-4th)

Beboppers are working on a math and reading diagnostic along with lines, artwork and staging for their trickster tale.

      Art Literacy

In art literacy, students are working on their self reflection and finishing up some past compositions.

      Update from Mr. Sharp

      Field Studies (3rd-8th)

We are onto the final few days of school at BBS. We are working on wrapping up our native plant unit this week. We have been out the past few days studying plants and exploring the forest near the school. The flowers are now blooming and there is a lot to see and learn from our small green friends. The class has their quiz on Friday afternoon so quiz them on their knowledge this week and hopefully they impress you.

      PE/Health Class

In P.E. class we have been having a blast playing baseball. Many of the kids have taken to playing at recess this past week in addition to P.E. I have already seen a huge improvement in just two weeks and we are getting hits, throwing and catching, and getting a handle on the rules of our national pastime.
