
Hello Families,
After a bumpy start Monday morning (due to bus issues), our upper graders departed for outdoor school in Eastern Oregon and are having a great week so far (see photo highlights below). A HUGE THANKS to our drivers who stepped in last minute to make the long trek – Gary, Siobhan, Jennie & Killian. Thanks also to Koli & Whitnie for being ready & willing to drive if necessary.
The lower grade students are enjoying having the school all to themselves this week, including free choice seating at lunch a climbing adventure at the Bend Rock Gym today.

Principal Message
Delaney has been off site this week in Eastern Oregon, visiting other rural school districts that are similar size to Black Butte School SD. He returns to BBS on Thursday May 7th.
Field Studies
Students are experiencing a week long field study class during outdoor school at OMSI’s Hancock Field Station!
PE/Health Class
Ms. Liz taught P.E. class this week and students enjoyed parachute play and animal tracks.

Green Ridge
Green Ridge Literacy: Green Ridge is working on the/oo/ sound spelled oo, ew, u-e, and u. They are also writing their third paragraph for their interpretive essay. In math, students are multiplying with 3, 4, and 6 in a myriad of ways.
Rose Hip & Green Ridge Creative Movement: Green Ridge and Rose Hips finished their action word visual yesterday. Later this week, they will assign sounds to a range of high, mid, and low movements.
