Hello Families,

Camp Sherman in the spring brings morning temps in the 30s and highs in the 80s. Keep this in mind for the field trip on Friday when students will be hiking 2 miles along the river. Help them prepare for the day with layers, extra water, and sun protection.

Volunteers are needed for the library project – please RSVP to Molly if you are able to join the training on June 12th from 9am-12pm. We’ll have lots of snacks!

      Administrators (5th-8th)

      Hello Parents of Administrators!

The Administrators are really working hard on getting the slide show ready for the performance.  Lately the class flow has needed to adapt to juggling a lot of hats as we all try to wrap up a long list of projects.

We are going on a field trip on Friday 5/30.  We will be out all day and it is supposed to be very warm, so please remind the students to bring water bottles.

      Update from Ms. Kassie

      K-1 Literacy & Math

In literacy we are reviewing digraphs and finishing up some reading projects, as well as adding another page to our portfolio. In math we have been playing with money.

      • K-1 Literacy and Math Work and Play to try at home
        • Give students a small jar of coins and see if they can add up how much money is in there. Maybe they can keep it if they get it right!
        K-2 Science

In science we are learning about primary vs secondary sources and understanding how stories help us learn about the past.

        Update from Mr. B

        BeBop Literacy & Math (2nd-4th)

The Bebop Crew is writing a trickster tale, troubleshooting how to showcase it to an audience, writing checks in the thousands, solving multi-step math problems (with correct number sentences) and playing with the word probability!

        Art Literacy

In art literacy, students are putting finishing touches on previous work (art blurbs, marker watercolor compositions, oil pastel cityscapes and bull trout) and helping generate visual art for the Spring Program.

        Update from Mr. Sharp

        Field Studies (3rd-8th)

We are almost to the end of May and it is feeling more and more like summer here at BBS. We didn’t get much field study time this past week but the kids should be prepping for their native plants quiz in a couple weeks. This Friday we are excited for a big hike on the Metolius with our friends from Trout Unlimited. Please be sure kids have layers, extra water, and sun protection.

        PE/Health Class

In P.E. class we got the baseball gloves and balls out this week and are working on throwing and catching. This may be our final sport for the spring after learning about disc golf, frisbee, lacrosse, and now baseball.
